Jacob Bailey

Drums/Percussion/Piano Teacher

Jacob Bailey is a percussionist at the University of North Texas, studying music education. He joined band in middle school and quickly became fascinated with all things percussion. He later attended Marcus High School, where he continued to develop his skills as a percussionist and performer as well as earn UIL All-State Percussionist accolades. Most recently, he performed with the Santa Clara Vanguard, placing 5th at the Drum Corps International World Championship.

As someone who has not played drum set for very long, Jacob understands the challenges that come with learning a new instrument. His teaching focuses on developing strong technique and fundamentals that can be applied to all aspects of percussion, while helping students build confidence and enjoy the process of learning. In addition to drum set, he enjoys playing and performing on the marimba. His experience with mallet percussion has helped him develop skills that have allowed him to quickly pick up piano. Above all, Jacob cherishes the power of music and hopes to share his passion with students of all ages.
